As I'm sure REAL writers know, the most important use of these fine devices was overlooked: iPads are perfect for leveling the wobbly table at coffee shops so your fountain pen doesn't roll off when you turn to the next page on your legal pad.

If ink for my fountain pen weren't so expensive I might be able to afford one of these fancy devices. Until then, I'll just keep taking stacks of napkins from the counter.

Awesome tips all the way around. I'm behind the curve since I don't have an iPad as of yet. However, thanks to you, I know exactly what apps to add as soon as I get it.

One of the criticisms of the tablet is that it’s not a content creation device. Well, over the past few months, I’ve found that supposition to be completely incorrect, especially with the coming of the iPad 2....

The economy is a shambles at the moment, however, you are right about the subscription services. It's the only way forward. I don't think it will end up making a ton of money for bloggers though. The field of online marketing is too over crowded, so that big 7 figure is still going to be a long way off. I would say the people who make the most money will be the big corporation owners and the guys who get into some complex coding and web development. It's about simplifying complex problems using technology that will make the big bucks sadly.

I love the subscription model because of exactly what you've covered. There's less overhead right up front and you can always quit or move on if and when you need. I much rather sign up for a service that I know I can grow out of in a few months rather than dropping everything onto a piece of software that's going to be replaced in a few months.

I concur and would add that many times the questions and insights [Read: Criticisms] that you have are the very ones imbued on the mind of another. I think [and, wish I practiced it more] that no question is a dump question and thus no critique is a bad one unless couched in personal attack.

Hope your holiday rocked.

Oh, and Hootsuite - I have a message for you. And every other software company out there.

You create a product. If your users have problems using your product because of the way you maintain it - THAT'S YOUR FAULT. Not the users. Yours. And if they're paying for it? It's your job to make those problems go away.

So either get your crap together and start thinking before you completely change core features, and get a pricing structure that's more Fair and Balanced than Fox News, or wait for some other company to come along and each your lunch. Your call.
